American Legion Post 41 Baseball Player Rules

  • I understand that the use of tobacco INCLUDING VAPE PRODUCTS during the season is strictly prohibited. I understand use of these products will result in immediate dismissal from the program.

  • I understand that use of alcohol during the season is strictly prohibited. I understand use of alcohol will result in immediate dismissal from the program.

  • I understand that arguing with umpires, officials, coaches, teammates or opposing teams is prohibited. I understand that violation of this could result in suspension by the team and/or the state.

  • I understand that abuse of mine, teammate’s or the team’s equipment (throwing bats, helmets, gloves etc.) will not be tolerated. I understand that violation of this may result in suspension by the team and/or the state.

  • I understand that missing practice or games could affect my playing time. PLAYING TIME IS NOT PROMISED IT IS EARNED.

  • I understand that I may not be starting on the field, but I still have an important part on the team. This means I will stay in the dugout with my teammates and I can only leave the dugout with a coach’s permission. I understand that not playing in one game does not necessarily mean I won’t play in the next.

  • I agree to work hard at practice, in games, and in everyday life. I agree to hustle on and off the field after each inning.

  • I agree that every player in the program is my teammate and I agree to treat them with respect.

  • I agree to treat my coaches, fans and umpires with respect.

  • I understand that while traveling with the team, I am responsible for the room I stay in.  I agree that if I damage something, I should own up to it and do whatever I can to make it right.

  • I agree to clean the bus and trailer after each road trip. This means the TEAM cleans it.

  • I agree I am required to work the field. after each practice or game my team is involved in.  This means raking the infield, picking up trash, and making sure everything is put away. This is required even if there is another practice or game after mine. Again, this will be a TEAM activity.

  • I understand that there is a difference between playing baseball and being a baseball player.

  • I agree to lift my teammates up when they are down and to allow them to do the same for me.

  • I understand that I represent AMERICAN LEGION and POST 41 baseball whether on or off the field.  I agree to hold myself and my teammates to the high standard that brings.

Remember: at the end of the day, you are the “boys of summer.” Have fun, play hard, and enjoy this time.  You are a band of brothers and the memories you make now will last a lifetime.
